As we approach the conclusion of the 2020-21 school year, our teachers and staff will participate in “Goodbye Wave Parades” to students on Friday, June 19, 2020. The parades will involve staff members driving their vehicles through various East Windsor and Hightstown neighborhoods to say "goodbye" to our students, as we celebrate the end of the school year and begin the summer.
There will be two parades that are organized by dividing the staff from six schools into two groups. The first parade will begin at 11:00 AM and the second one will start at 1:00 PM. Both parades will leave from Hightstown High School according to the following schedule:
Parade #1 at 11:00 AM:
Teachers/Staff from...
- Walter C. Black Elementary School
- Grace N. Rogers Elementary School
- Hightstown High School
Parade #2 at 1:00 PM:
Teachers/Staff from...
- Ethel McKnight Elementary School
- Perry L. Drew Elementary School
- Melvin H. Kreps Middle School
In an effort to have safe and successful parades, it is important for students and staff members to adhere to the following expectations:
- Teachers will remain in their vehicles throughout the entire parade.
- Social distancing measures will be in effect during each parade.
- Face coverings should be worn.
- A distance of at least 6 feet should be maintained when students are standing with individuals who are not members of their households.
- Students should stay in their front yard or sidewalk, and avoid standing in or close to the street.
Parade routes will be shared on Wednesday, June 17.
